We are seeking a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate various types of construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, rollers, and backhoes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of earthwork and utility projects, along with experience working on heavy civil construction projects. Attention to safety, proper machine maintenance, and adherence to project specifications are key in this role.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and loaders to perform earthmoving and grading tasks.
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and layout to ensure proper execution of construction activities.
- Perform daily maintenance checks and minor repairs on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to ensure project goals are met.
- Perform trenching, backfilling, and excavation for underground utilities, roads, and other infrastructure.
- Utilize GPS systems and laser levels to maintain accuracy in grading and excavation.
- Identify and address any operational issues or potential safety hazards.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
- Experience in earthwork, utility installation, and heavy civil projects is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in operating GPS-enabled equipment for grading and layout tasks.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and commitment to safety.
- Must be physically capable of operating heavy equipment for extended periods and performing manual tasks.
